WORKHOP: Mosaics with Crystals and Minerals
SUNDAY JUNE 4th 10 am - 4 pm PHILLIP ISLAND CAMPUS
$120 including some materials and lunch.
During this one day workshop you will work with an incredible array of rocks, crystals and minerals. Helen will teach you how to incorporate these interesting and naturally occurring materials into your mosaics. This will open up a whole new way of working and a vast scope of what materials can be used in a mosaic.
NOTE: For those who have done a crystal and mineral workshop with me in the past, this one covers some of the previous information and skills, but includes different materials and ideas, so you may consider this as an extension of what you have already learnt.
This Workshop Will Cover the Following:
- Selection of minerals and crystals suitable for mosaics.
- How to cleave different crystals in different ways and suitable tools
- Glues and other technical know how

Unique Properties of crystals and their relevance to our art
- Inspirational ideas for unique artworks that incorporate crystals
- How to incorporate crystals into your mosaic art and combining with other materials such as glass or smalti

Sourcing your gems, crystals and rocks
- And much, much more...
There will not be time during this one day format to complete a work of art but you will either make a small sampler, or design and begin a work of art. You may also attend follow up classes, or do an online class, if you wish to continue this work under Helen's tution.
